Newsletter 114: Embracing Dyslexia in Entrepreneurship and Coaching

🧠 The Struggles of Divergent Thinkers in Traditional Careers

Introduction

Hello, I'm Matt Ivey, founder of Dyslexic AI. As I enjoy my morning coffee, I'm excited to share with you my journey as a dyslexic entrepreneur and professional business coach.

My Journey

I've always been a lifelong coach, a term I prefer over 'teacher'. This preference stems from my non-traditional approach to teaching and my love for out-of-the-box thinking. My journey towards coaching wasn't straightforward. I struggled with the traditional classroom setting, partly due to the prevalence of standardized testing and the changing landscape of education at the time.

The Struggles of Divergent Thinkers in Traditional Careers

It's often challenging for divergent and dyslexic thinkers, or those with ADHD, to find satisfaction in careers that don't align with their unique thinking styles. That's why many such individuals turn to entrepreneurship, where they can exercise autonomy and carve their own path. However, not everyone can or chooses to take this route. For various reasons, some end up in careers that don't leverage their unique abilities as dyslexic divergent thinkers.

Harnessing AI Tools for Success

Part of my mission is to help these individuals discover their unique calling and vision, and then assist them in creating a career path using AI tools. What sets my coaching style apart is the use of these AI tools, which form part of my 'dyslexic tech stack'. These tools have not only helped me but also my eleven-year-old dyslexic daughter in our careers and education.

A Program by a Dyslexic Thinker for Dyslexic Thinkers

What makes this program special is that it's created for dyslexic and divergent thinkers by a dyslexic and divergent thinker. I've been a coach since I was 17, working in an after-school program, teaching kids sports and activities. I'm not a newcomer to coaching; I understand how dyslexic thinkers think. I've spent a lot of time getting to where I am and thinking about how I can apply my experiences to help others who are dyslexic and divergent thinkers. This is my hero's journey, taking my once perceived limitations and harnessing them to help others.

Conclusion

Being in a unique position to study these technologies and advancements for dyslexic thinkers daily, I get excited thinking about the people I can help. There's potential for individuals to change their career paths and find something that aligns with their calling in life. As a coach, the prospect of transforming people's lives in the same way I changed mine by discovering these AI tools fires me up.

Thank you for joining me over this morning cup of coffee. I look forward to sharing more insights with you in the future.

Have a great day!
